ARIES has successfully completed a new Car to Car crash test facility at KATRI (Korea Automobile Testing & Research Institute). This project has been a great challenge as, an addition to the use of the state of the art technology for speed control, ARIES has taken the full responsibility over the actual civil works construction, included in our scope as a full turn-key supply; and it was not an easy commitment because it was not form a green field but an upgrade over an existing facility which always adds some uncertainties. And the whole project has been performed 100% on initial schedule working, part of the commissioning time, in hard outdoor winter conditions. We are very proud of our engineering team that has established a good communication level with KATRI engineers that have been also supporting the project also in a proper customer-supplier collaboration way.
Due to electric power limitations, this facility has been equipped with latest technology in hydraulic propulsion. A battery of accumulators store the energy for the crash sequence in advance. The system can be used for single track test (frontal, side, rear,..) or in combined tracks for angle car to car impacts.
